I’m taking a break from my “Tasteful Thursdays” And “Poetry Fridays” posts, to pause and reflect over Easter. In the Good Friday service at my church they did a powerful drama based on a skit called “Aftermath”. Re-watching it is still like seeing the drama for the first time.
It’s crazy and very humbling to think that “God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” (Romans 5:8, NLT).
“Jesus Christ, I think upon your sacrifice.
You became nothing, poured out to death
Many times I’ve wondered at your gift of life
And I’m in that place once again.
“Once again I look upon
the cross where you died.
I’m humbled by your mercy
and I’m broken inside.
Once again I thank you.
Once again I pour out my life.”
~Matt Redman, “Once Again”
